Blinds inside glass are exactly what they sound like - an integral blind sealed inside the glass of a double-glazed unit. Here is how the system works from survey to installation.

Blinds inside glass are built into a new sealed double-glazed unit. The blind sits between the panes, protected from dust, moisture and everyday handling.

During your survey we measure the existing glass unit, not the whole window or door. That means your current frames stay in place.

The replacement unit is manufactured with integrated blinds inside the glass. Depending on the system, you can choose venetian, pleated, magnetic, manual or electric operation.

On installation day, we remove the old sealed unit and fit the new one back into the same opening. The practical result is blinds inside the glass, with the finished sealed unit sitting neatly inside your existing frame.

A clearer route from survey to finished integral blinds

The practical change is the sealed glass unit. When the existing frame is suitable, the new double-glazed unit is made with the blind inside, then fitted back into the same opening. The survey confirms the final route before manufacture.

    Survey

    Measure the existing sealed unit

    The survey starts with the glass unit already in your window or door, then checks the frame, beads, access and control route before anything is ordered.

    The opening is translated into a measured specification for a new integral blind unit.

    The suitable existing frame and opening are assessed rather than replacing the whole window.

    Specification

    Match the blind, glass and control

    The blind style, colour, glass make-up and control system are matched to how the room is used, how far you need to reach and whether power is practical.

    The room style and window layout usually remain familiar when the frame is suitable.

    Manufacture

    Build the replacement glass unit

    A new sealed double-glazed unit is manufactured with the blind enclosed between the panes, ready to be fitted into the existing opening.

    The old sealed unit is replaced by a new double-glazed unit with the blind inside.
    What stays
    The window or door frame remains the reference point for the replacement glass unit.
    Survey check
    Final sizes, glazing make-up, unit weight, handling access and lead-time expectations.

    Installation

    Fit back into the existing frame

    On installation day the old sealed unit is removed, the replacement blinds-inside-glass unit is fitted and the control is tested before handover.

    The visible glass area gains integral blinds, with controls checked before handover.

    Suitable existing frames typically stay in place; any trim, gasket or access exceptions are agreed from the survey.
